ABOUT
STUDENTS AGAINST CENSORSHIP

MISSION & VISION.

We dream of a world in which access, content, and communication around books are freely provided for the public good. We aim to promote literary diversity that helps people to grow liberal habits of the mind - such as pluralism, curiosity, civic empathy, and self-correction.

We are a student-led, library-anchored political advocacy program that expands access, adds context, and hosts conversations, converting reading and literature into liberal thinking and measurable civic benefits.

LEGISLATIVE CHALLENGES.

Texas Senate Bill 13 (2025)

Florida House Bill 1557
(2022)

Louisiana Act 436
(2023)

Utah House Bill 29
(2023)
